GNPC – Takoradi headquarters
GNPC – Takoradi headquarters The GNPC office building was designed to reflect the company's technological innovation and allow space for continued creation and development, a space that can accommodate the modern work environment for the benefit of the company's employees and customers. The building serves as a showcase for the company and its values. The front of the building redefines the street, in front of the representative building facing the street there is a green square and protected spaces that create a break that allows you to stop and observe the building and the surroundings. At the main entrance, a forest of columns grows from the ground, which become a canopy that accompanies the tenants until they enter the building, just like the trees on the fertile land of Ghana that gives life and beauty to the country. The long facades of the building face north and south, this reference allows the introduction of natural light into the work spaces and on the other hand protection through shading from direct radiation. Part of the building is covered with aluminum panels in the colors of the company and more importantly, the yellow represents the natural resources of the African continent as it appears in the flag of Ghana. The cladding system is characterized by external insulation that improves the climate inside the building and enables energy savings, the areas where there are public uses and shared open work spaces, are covered with insulated curtain walls and shaded with blinds to prevent direct radiation while at the same time maintaining the transparency that is in line with the company's values. Natural light penetrates during the day to all parts of the building through the atrium that rises to the entire height of the building. During the hours of darkness, the interior light of the building is distributed through the curtain walls of the atrium to the street. The building is built in two main wings and the main atrium connects them and is a central vertical element in the building which, apart from being a powerful element, is also a spatial landmark to improve orientation within the building and allows for observations and connection between different parts of the building. The division into departments makes it possible to create different work environments according to the company's departments, and a lot of thought was put into adapting the planning and design to the nature of the work of each department while emphasizing the creation of uniqueness for each department according to the required nature of work. On the ground floor, all the public and leisure spaces are concentrated for the well-being of the building's users, the spaces are designed to a high standard and stand at the forefront of design, including the use of the highest-level finishing materials as is customary in office buildings around the world today. The building meets all the high standards used and LEED regulations and is equipped with all the advanced systems in the field of safety, air conditioning, electricity and all other disciplines. Special emphasis was placed on the senior management rooms in order to provide the best conditions for the company's employees and their guests in the offices, meeting rooms, in the large auditorium that holds 350 guests and in the hospitality space on the roof of the building. The roof terrace is a meeting and hosting place for company events with a beautiful view of Sekondi-Takoradi and the sea.
